This is also a good opportunity to spot nocturnal animals such as lion or leopard. After breakfast, we will begin our journey to the entrance of the Serengeti National Park via the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will notice the cooler air of the Highlands before the Serengeti literally unfolds before you with rolling savannah planes.
The Serengeti is one of Africa’s utmost conservation areas where the annual Wildebeest Migration takes place from November to July. Throughout the year this park offers excellent game viewing opportunities. Your stay will be at Kiota camp in the centre of the Serengeti. With only twelve tents, the camp maintains a quiet presence within the surrounding woodlands and grasslands.

Waking up in the heart of the central Serengeti gives us access to year-round game viewing, especially in the Seronera Valley, famous for its healthy population of big cats. The Wildebeest Migration passes through twice a year too, around April/May and again in November. After breakfast we’ll embark on a morning game drive which will have a different feel to the south due to the animals that live in the short grass plains and kopjes of the north. Today you’ll have the option of either a full day game drive, or return to camp for lunch, afternoon siesta and then an evening drive to spot animals as the day cools.
Included Activities: Full day game drive
Meals Included: Camp breakfast, lunch and safari dinner
Accommodation: Kiota Tented GlampingDay 5 – Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Descending into the Ngorongoro crater is a highlight for most, a massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25,000 species and home to the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. If you’re very lucky you may spot these all on one afternoon game drive. The annual wildebeest and zebra migration pass through Ngorongoro, with the area suddenly becoming home for another 1.7 million inhabitants from December to June. For bird enthusiasts you’ll be delighted to know the area has 500 species of bird, including ostrich, pelican, and flamingo. Depending on the season your stay will be at Chaka Mobile Camp which follows the wildebeest migration and moves seasonally from Northern Serengeti to Ndutu. An elegant camp with eleven ensuite tents and a team of highly trained staff, Chaka Camp offers privacy and comfort in the middle of the Serengeti wilderness.

After breakfast you will drive through Ngorongoro Conservation Area for an early morning game drive on your way to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park is one of the smaller parks with a shallow, ephemeral lake no more than 4m deep. What it lacks in size it makes up for in beauty, with stunning landscapes from forests to flood plains and acacia woodlands. The unique landscapes offer a home for more than 400 species of birds, so this is truly a worthwhile stop for bird enthusiasts. If you are very lucky, you may glimpse the renowned “tree climbing” lions that live in the park.
To maximise our time in the park, picnic lunch will be had near the natural hot springs followed by an afternoon game drive before leaving to Karatu for your overnight stay.
