Going on an overnight camping safari at the Chobe National Park will give you the opportunity to see Botswana’s fascinating animals and birdlife. Your journey will begin at your hotel in Victoria Falls town from where you will be picked up for a morning departure. Your minibus will make its way to Kazungula.

OPTION 1: 

1 DAY 1 NIGHT SAFARI
Cost Low season USD 240/ High season USD 257 (June 1 – Sept 30)

Day 1
At 08h30 guests will be met at Kazungula by a guide and escorted through the formalities of Immigration. A short safety briefing follows with pertinent information on the region. At 09h30 guests will board a boat and begin a three hour cruise inside Chobe National park. This river cruise is one of the highlights of this trip, as you will have the chance to get up close with amazing birdlife, crocodiles, hippos, and the abundant Cape buffalo and elephant that go to the river to drink. At 12h30 the cruise will end at Coffee Buzz. After a wonderful lunch you will have the chance to do some last minute shopping at Kasane for personal extras you may require, as there aren’t any shops insideChobe. Guests will then go on a game drive in the park and explore the riverfront on the way to the Camp. This is guaranteed to impress even the most seasoned Safari goer and is the ideal time to spotthe large herbivores of Chobe heading down to quench their thirst at the river. After sunset, guests will be returned to camp for a reflective fireside chat. A hearty bush dinner cooked on open fires will follow, accompanied by the memorable nocturnal sounds of the African bush.

Day 2
Guests are woken up at dawn and warm water is poured into their basins by staff. After a quick cup of coffee or tea, and a light continental breakfast, guests will depart on their final game drive. Thereafter you will leaveChobe and be driven back to Kasane/Kazungula between 08h30 and 09h00.

• OPTION 2: 

2 DAY 1 NIGHT SAFARI

Day 1
At 08h30 guests will be met at Kazungula by a guide and escorted through the formalities of Immigration. A short safety briefing follows with pertinent information on the region. At 09h30 guests will board a boat for a three hour cruise inside Chobe Park. This river cruise is a highlight of this trip, as you will have the chance to get up close with amazing bird life, crocodiles, hippos, and the abundant Cape buffalo and elephant by the river. At 12h30 the cruise will end at Coffee Buzz. After a wonderful lunch you will have the chance to do some last minute shopping at Kasane. Guests will then go on a game drive in the afternoon. This is the ideal time to spot the large herbivores of Chobe heading down to the river. After sunset, guests will be returned to camp for a reflective fireside chat with drinks. A hearty bush dinner will follow, accompanied by the memorable nocturnal sounds of the bush.

Day 2
Guests are woken up at dawn and to wash with warm water in a basin. After a cup of coffee or tea, and a light breakfast, guests will depart for a game drive in the early morning. This is the best time of day for spotting big cats and Wild Dogs which are still active. Guests will be returned to camp around mid to late morning for a sumptuous bush brunch and the chance for a shower to refresh. After packing up, guests will be taken on their last game drive and then driven back to Kasane/ Kazungula at 16h30.

• OPTION 3:

2 NIGHT 2 DAY SAFARI
Cost Low season USD 375 /High season USD 403 (June 1 -September 30)

Day 1
At 08h30 guests will be met at Kazungula by a guide and escorted through the formalities of Immigration. A short safety briefing follows with pertinent information on the region. At 09h30 guests will board a boat and begin a three hour cruise inside Chobe. This river cruise is one of the highlights of this trip, as you will have the chance to get up close with amazing bird life, crocodiles, hippos, and abundant Cape buffalo and elephant. At 12h30 the cruise will end at the Kalahari offices. After a wonderful lunch at their restaurant you will have the chance to do some last minute shopping at Kasane. Guests will then go on a game drive in the afternoon. This is the ideal time to spot the large herbivores of Chobe. After sunset, guests will be returned to camp for a reflective fireside chat with drinks. A bush dinner will follow.

Day 2
Guests are woken up at dawn to wash with a basin of warm water. After a cup of coffee or tea, and breakfast, vehicles will depart for a game drive in the early morning. This is the best time of day for spotting big cats and Wild Dogs which are still active. Guests will be returned to camp around mid to late morning for a bush brunch, a siesta and the chance to read, rest or refresh with a shower.

As the day begins to cool, guests will be served afternoon tea and then taken on a game drive, with good sightings revisited or areas unexplored visited. Chobe is home to a wide diversity of game, with the cats and large herbivores such as buffalo and elephant being the main attractions. However, rarer animals such as Eland, Puku,Roan and Sable antelope, along with many more antelope species can also be seen here. After sunset, guests will be returned to camp for a fireside chat with drinks, followed by a bush dinner under the stars.

Day 3
Guests are woken up at dawn to wash with warm water. After breakfast, guests depart for their lastgame drive. This final tour may prove to be the best and will remain etched with the others in your memory as a truly great experience in Africa. Guests will then be driven back to Kasane/ Kazungula at 08h30.

• OPTION 4:

2 NIGHT 3 DAY SAFARI

Day 1
At 08h30 guests will be met at Kazungula by a guide and escorted through the formalities of Immigration. A short safety briefing followswith pertinent information on the region. At 09h30 guests will board a boat and begin a three hour cruise into Chobe with the chanceto get up close with amazing birdlife, crocodiles, hippos, and abundant Cape buffalo and elephant. At 12h30 the cruise will end at Coffee Buzz. You will have the chance to do someshopping at Kasane. Guests will then go on an afternoon game drive in the park. This is the ideal time to spot the large herbivores of Chobe. After sunset, guests will be returned to camp for a fireside chat with drinks, followed by a bush dinner.

Guests will be returned to camp around mid to late morning for brunch and the chance to take a shower. After packing up, guests will be taken on the final activity, which is typically another boat cruise, and then driven back to Kasane/ Kazungula at 16h30.

Important Information

• Camping within Chobe National Park is at the Exclusive Wilderness sites of BOGA or HATAB, with no other travellers close by. If these sites have been fully booked we will have to camp at the Ihaha public site, but this is rare.
• We try to have 2 departures per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. These days are flexible in the event of groups of more than 6.
• All tours have a backup team, which includes a cook. Minimal to no participation is required.
• We provide all camping equipment with tents, a bed roll and bedding.
• Ablutions comprise of long drop style toilets and rustic bucket showers in the open air.
• We provide a basic medical aid box.
• Be sure to fully charge digital camera batteries as there is no electricity in the bush.
• Please try to travel light as much as possible. Space is always an issue on safari.
