Spend your vacation at a private concession lodge. Stay at a well-decorated chalet with amazing river views. See massive elephant herds on the floodplains. Make friends quickly during your Victoria Falls vacation.
The Imbabala Zambezi Lodge was constructed in 1988 by Ron and Jean White. The vision behind the creation of Imbabala Safari Lodge was a river lodge at which guests quickly became friends. The lodge is located on a 4,000 acre private concession within the Matetsi Safari Area, a mere 80kms upstream from the Victoria Falls and close to the meeting point between the 4 countries of Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia.
Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge is positioned beautifully upon a riverine fringe of the Zambezi River. Shaded by old ebony trees, the main lodge comprises a charming thatched building with a lounge, dining room, cocktail bar and animal reference library. There is also a pool with a poolside bar and sundeck that is ideal for those who wish to relax and unwind.
Imbabala boasts some of the most spectacular bird watching and game viewing opportunities in the region with its 11kms of Zambezi River frontage, all within the seclusion of a private National Park concession. This concession borders Chobe Forest Reserve, famous for its massive population of elephants with herds of up to 1,500 visible on the floodplains just below the Imbabala Safari Camp.
The Lodge only accommodates 18 guests at a time in its thatch and stone chalets with private en-suite facilities. The lodge has a single family room, 2 doubles and 5 twin bed chalets. The chalets are tastefully and uniquely decorated and positioned beautifully with sweeping panoramas of the Zambezi. Every veranda features a comfortable hammock in which you may relax while taking in the amazing views. A great way to spend your vacation!
Activities at the lodge center around bird watching and game viewing on morning, afternoon and night game drives via open 4×4 safari vehicles on the Imbabala Private Concession Area. Guest can explore the mighty Zambezi by boat while enjoying exceptional bird-watching opportunities. The birdlife is varied and prolific and ranges from shy forest dwellers to water birds. Numerous rare species like the African Finfoot can be spotted in this bird lovers’ paradise. You will be amazed by the action and variety all round.
For guests who stay longer at Imbabala, the lodge can arrange daytrips to both Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park with additional charges applicable. The lodge is situated about 80kms to the west of Victoria Falls and arranges road transfer from the waterfall, Kasane or Livingstone.
Children under the age of 12 will not be accommodated without prior arrangement. No babysitters or childcare services are available at the lodge. Kids must be under their parents’ care at all times.
