Located about 4 kilometres outside of town atop a little hill lies the Elephant Hills, a hotel that offers panoramic views of the mighty Zambezi River and a taste of the misty spray of the Victoria Falls.

With its thatched roof, the building is a hard-to-miss landmark, even though it blends well into its surroundings. This luxury hotel is decorated in the essence of Zimbabwe and boasts a miniature replica of the Falls at its center that is quite impressive. Each of its spacious rooms offers its own balcony, along with splendid views of the surrounding areas and gardens. Most rooms feature connecting doors that are ideal for family stays.

Room facilities at Elephant Hills include 276 en suite rooms with air conditioning, direct dial phone, a mini bar and an in-room safe. Guests also get access to 24-hour room service, dual voltage power points, coffee and tea making facilities and a remote controlled television with satellite and movie channels.

In terms of entertainment, the hotel certainly isn’t lacking. It offers 2 swimming pools, squash courts, tennis courts, a casino and plenty more. There is even a barber and a beauty salon on the premises, along with a bowling green, a sauna, a gymnasium and lots of activities to keep children happy and occupied.

For golfers, Elephant Hills boasts the area’s only golf course, an 18-hole course designed by golfing great Gary Player. While the course is no longer in as great shape as it once was, it remains a magical and unique sight to behold. A regular and free bus shuttle connects the hotel to and from the town center and Victoria Falls.

There is an array of options available for diners at the hotel. The Kasibi and Samukele are informal dining areas that serve both buffet and à la carte menus. At the Pool Side Grill, visitors can enjoy the traditional barbecue. Other snacking areas include the Halfway House golf course and the Mapopoma Bar and Terrace.

Full banqueting and conferencing facilities are also available for up to five hundred people theater style and three hundred and fifty people classroom style, with an array of rooms offered to cater for all group sizes.

Standard conferencing facilities include an LCD projector, white boards & flip charts, 35 mm slide projectors and carousels, overhead projectors and stands, VCR, VHS, laserlite infra red pointers and mounted screens and portable television monitors. Tables include conference, trestle & round, while the stage is lectern or fixed.

The sound system features a PA, speakers, MIC box, public address system monitor, tape deck, multi-system, public address system mixer and microphones or lapel microphones.
